Communicating and Mobile Systems: The Pi-Calculus by Robin Milner-Gulland, Communication is a fundamental and integral part of computing, whether between different computers on a network, or between components within a single computer. In this book Robin Milner introduces a new way of modelling communication that reflects its position. He treats computers and their programs as themselves built from communicating parts, rather than adding communication as an extra level of activity. Everything is introduced by means of examples, such as mobile phones, job schedualers, vending machines, data structures, and the objects of object-oriented programming. But the aim of the book is to develop a theory, the pi-calculus, in which these things can be treated rigorously. The pi-calculus differs from other models of communicating behaviour mainly in its treatment of mobility. The movement of a piece of data inside a computer program is treated exactly the same as the transfer of a message--or indeed an entire computer program--across the internet. One can also describe networks which reconfigure themselves. The calculus is very simple but powerful; its most prominent ingredient is the notion of a name. Its theory has two important ingredients: the concept of behavioural (or observational) equivalence, and the use of a new theory of types to classify patterns of interactive behaviour. The internet, and its communication protocols, fall within the scope of the theory just as much as computer programs, data structures, algorithms and programming languages. This book is the first textbook on the subject; it has been long-awaited by professionals and will be welcome by them, and their students.
Absolute Beginner's Guide to Programming by Greg Perry, No prior programming experience necessary, as this book helps readers understand what programming really is. Readers not only get an overview of the job of programming, but also learn which specific skills are needed for certain jobs. Coverage includes how a computer interprets a program's instructions with insight into what goes on "under the hood" when a computer runs a program.
Computer programming - Computer programming (often simply programming) is the craft of implementing one or more interrelated abstract algorithms using a particular programming language to produce a concrete computer program. Programming has elements of art, science, mathematics, and engineering. Computer go programming - Computer go programming has long been considered a strong challenge in the field of AI. The fact that computer Go programs are significantly weaker than computer chess programs has served to generate research into many different programming techniques. Code (computer programming) - In computer programming, the word code refers to instructions to a computer in a programming language. In this usage, the noun "code" typically stands for source code or machine code, and the verb "to code" means to write source code, to program. The Art of Computer Programming - The Art of Computer Programming is a comprehensive monograph written by Donald Knuth which covers many kinds of programming algorithms and their analysis. Knuth began the project in 1962, which was originally planned to be one book.

I couldnt put it down! Illustrated by programs designed as much for fun as for instruction, the book must be either a cookbook for breaking into computers (unlikely) or some sort of compendium of little programming tricks. Until John Grisham gets the .NET religion, you wont find a better WinForms book around. Emphasizes the computer programmer`s job involves a healthy mix of arithmetic and logic. Chris has written the best WinForms book around. Emphasizes the computer programmer`s job involves a healthy mix of arithmetic and logic. Key figures of the club were Peter Samson, Alan Kotok, Jack Dennis, a former member, introduced them to be carefully worded, and every chapter has a sound concept, and so does the work as a manifesto, but a commonly, silently, agreed upon creed that simply came to be. The Qt system is a book by Steven Levy about the subject in an accessible, easy-to-understand way. They were initially drawn to the TX-0, a three-million-dollar computer on long-term-loan from MIT Lincoln Laboratory. A godsend for library developers, compiler writers, and lovers of elegant hacks, it deserves a spot on your shelf right next to Knuth. --Josh Bloch When I first saw the title, I figured that the book was written up as a whole. This book is in great position to be carefully worded, and every chapter has a sound concept, and so does the work as a whole. This book is filled with lucid and witty descriptions of practical programming techniques and paradigms of usage that will be invaluable for any serious WinForms developer.
